In the early morning hours of Sunday, December 30, 2007 and on a routine search and rescue mission, our local air ambulance service helicopter Air Evac 16 - N109AE crashed in the forest south of the Barton Community of Colbert County but after locating a missing hunter. There were sadly, no survivors.

Pilot Mike Baker, Flight Nurse Tiffany Miles, Flight Paramedic Allan Bragwell and their families will remain in our hearts and our thoughts forever more.
